I've had both a Marantz 7 and 7T; both are good-sounding preamps with a lot of features. I used them upstream of tube amps, including Marantz 8B and Dynaco Mk III, ST-70, ST-35 and various SS amps.

I liked them both quite a lot. When upstream of a tube amp, I found the difference between the 7 and 7T was much harder to discern and the 7T was quite nice. If I still had them, I'd gladly use the 7T upstream of your MC240 and sell the 7 - have you seen the insane prices those are commanding these days?
