the technics sl-1500 w/sme3009 arm to the system i am building for a friend without first checking the tt for output.
get it all hooked-up and spin a record and switch the selector to phono and BRUUUUMMMMPPPPP!!!!! scares the crap out of me!!
quickly switch the selector back and catch my breath.
put on a cd and listen for damage.
sure as shit the b&w driver i fixed a few weeks ago now has vc rub. :(
1hr later and the b&w driver is repaired and playing music.
so today i get the --test-- receiver/spkrs setup and discover that there is an intermittent short on the right rca of the sme cable.
this is the very last time i hook-up anything to valuable stuff without first really going through it.
