The 1060B was a replacement for the original 1060. I can't vouch for the sound of the B model. One feature that was dropped was the midrange tone control, leaving just bass and treble adjustments. Also, the rotary tone controls were replaced with slider controls. I find slider controls for tone and balance to be harder to set the way I want them. I have always valued amplifiers and preamplifiers that include a midrange control, sometimes I find it useful.
