Hi, caffeinator! Thanks for posting some interesting observations regarding the Marantz 7-C.
The name of the actual paint color is TAUPE.
Many years ago, I had this paint duplicated in lacquer and painted some extra top and bottom panels for Model 7-C, which I had custom manufactured to spec, and then offered little touch-up bottles of the paint for fellow collectors.
I have never seen a "greenish" Model 7, but one day may!
However, I somewhat disagree with your comment that a "7-T", working in association with an 8-B is a "good sounding" set up. I have also owned many "7-T"s and never liked them in any way, as compared with its earlier tube brother. Now, if you would like to have an eye and ear opening experience, try hooking up a GAS Thoebe preamp with an 8-B and you will be quite astonished at the results.
Again, many thanks for your posting.
