From your second post it sounds like you have the speakers settled.The preamp you want may take some looking. What you have to watch for is sound quality. Some of the remote controlled preamps use silicon switches for input selection and it messes up the sound. Look for one with relay switching.
One possibility is an NAD. Adcom also makes the type of pre you're looking for, but it was a GFA-450 tuner-preamp that sounded really bad compared to my non-remote GFA-350. If you go with an Adcom, be sure you get it on approval with return priveledges.
Carver may also have made what yoo need.
