Yes, it was considered a decent speaker. My problem with them was that the bass is too strong for a small room. They sounded great in the shop and in my 16' x 28' living room, but with the extra room gain in a 12' x 15' den, they were too much. Other than that they were fine. Stereo Review gave them a great review, but then they gave everything a great review. I did like them, and in the right room, the sound is very good, particularly the bass.

The reason mine didn't get to stay in the living room was that the very strong magnets screwed up the TV they flanked. So keep them away from TV's.

They went to my son-in-law for several years, always sounded good when I visited, and more recently went to his brother-in-law. He's very happy with them and drives them with a Carver amp.
