Is Leave all the curcuits alone, and get it aligned and/or repaired by someone good. If a switch is bad or intermittent, a good tech should have no problems fixing it. Once you start modding it, you run into other, possibly more serious problems. You seem that you were happy before with it, I think you can again.Gene
