This probably isn't pertinent but I remember there being little "lightning arrestor" blocks available for both 300 ohm twinlead and larger coaxial cable which consisted of nothing more than a spark gap(s) - never read anything on their efficacy however. If it's that kind of protection you are looking for you might be able to build something into an "F" connector with sharpened pins of some sort; and of course grounding the shell.Charles
