Greetings tantra; While I'm not sure what you mean by "significant" as an end user of the M.D. 102T for some two years now myself, safe to say it is a superior tuner in all areas of sound reproduction that someone with a quality system such as yours would benefit significantly from, fair enough?
When I purchased my 102T I had a temporary audition with the M.D. 90 courtesy of my local dealer minus the tubes and really enjoyed the nice warm analogue tone to the overall presentation, good signal strength along with the ability to hold the station avoiding the station drift so common of lesser tuner's, an overall quality feel to the switches along with the organised internal layout of the entry level M.D. 90 produced a feeling of contentment and belief in this manufacturers line, not to mention the overall aesthetics.
A quality product for the monetary outlay, yet I really wanted something a little more in terms of overall sonic performance, particularly improvements in the bass response as well as a desire to try and obtain a somewhat even lower background noise, along with that benefit of course comes added separation with better stage proportion.
Enter the M.D. 102T --
As I could have stayed with the 90, upon discussing my concerns with my Dealer he graciously allowed me a demo over the weekend with the 102 which in his opinion was "the performer" at the price-curve of diminishing returns in the M.D. lineup. All the above mentioned concerns were satisfied to my critical ears with the added benefit of being able to connect TWO antennas, one ST2 indoor along with a roof-mount which maximise this units abilities.
IMO There's a reason the M.D. line of tuners have levels irrespective to various price points. To be compatible with different levels of systems not to mention personal tastes and listening preferences, if you think any of what Ive offered as a response to your question is helpful and you have a great and caring dealer as I feel I have why not demo one out in your system with a quality antennae. And don't forget the quality interconnects as Transparent Ultras have worked very well in my setup.
Thats really the best way in the end, as if purchased new the cost as Dudeupshaw concedes is considerable, but I'm sure you're already aware of that.Good advice from both Timbo in OZ on antennas as well as Dudeupshaw, a very refined quality piece deserving of the best ancillaries!
I hope this is of some help to you.
Best of Luck!!!
