I have the Radio Shack FM specific high gain antenna at the ridiculously low price. It's sitting 1.5' above my cement patio outside and singing beautifully.Hooked up most stuff loosely, so I can test things out on the ground before braving the attic crawlspace I have to put it up in eventually.
Did the 1 microhenry inductor mod and that was OK but not profound. Did one then two of his coil current baluns with the quad shield RG6 and that seems to have worked too.
Bought some aluminum stock to try out the outlying element he suggests will be more significant and may try that tomorrow.
All this in prep to make sure I don't do something to lose all that delicious detail and signal strength I picked up with the new antenna. I'm fascinated with how good FM can sound. Most people have no clue!
