Re: The stereo ligt on my FM3 does not light

Yes there is a stereo indicator of a sort in the FM3. It's really one of the two indicator "bars" in the EMM801 set up to sense the 19KHz pilot signal of a stereo broadcast. When 19KHZ is present it causes the two opposing bars to completely open and close at a 19KHz rate giving the appearance of closing or lighting up the "STEREO" letters. If this is not lighting up on a known stereo broadcast, the decoder needs realignment (likely), there is a component or tube failure (6BL8), or the EMM801 might be bad (unlikely). All this assumes that the thing was working properly at some point in its life. If customer wired and you don't know its heritage, you may have a wiring error too.

First order of business is to realign the decoder per Dyna's instructions. No instruments needed but it's tedious.
