I agree both SS and tube are very different FM tuners. Any signal issues and the tube type falls short of the quality SS tuners with tighter passbands & complex multiplexers.If a strong quality signal exists, I suspect the tube would sound better on the right FM station. DX is for SS FM tuners as front-ends are hotter.
