I have no real expertise in antennas but do know the FM frequency band falls between the frequencies for TV Channel 6 and 7 transmissions. That alone tells me most any dedicated FM antenna should outperform a TV antenna.
We have a local Channel 6 TV station and I can receive audio from them when tuning below 88.1. I believe Channel 7's frequency is further separated above the FM bands.
