I see it differently. Plenty of resources exist to get some basic knowledge quickly. Having that knowledge provides a better understanding for troubleshooting and asking questions. It helps develop your craft. Get the basics, then fill in the detail at your leisure.
The alternative is to gain from others' good intentions to help without doing the work. Sure, the forum is here for help, but that does not mean you are entitled to help from others just because you want it without putting in some effort to learn... or to learn enough to help others. But, that is a "values" argument that can be spun myriad ways... I'm not "right" in this. Still, I would not derive enjoyment from continually taking.
How much time have you cost others with inaccurate descriptions, vague questions and generally shoddy build quality that could have easily been avoided, only to snap at the very who have persevered in helping you?
