you are right, no mention was made of anything like that. It was only, modifying it wrecks it.

However, I will quite comfortably bet that a McIntosh listener will pick the modified one over a restored stocker given the choice. Since I have yet to hear of anybody else doing this, there may be a bit of trouble finding a second set I don't know about...LOL
