How much to spend on said amps? for custom stuff the sky is the limit as far as tube choices. why bother with a 300b-oid when you could do 211, 845, 849, Eimac 250TL, 304TL, WE 212, etc... All are better or at least more interesting choices IMNSHO. And availability is not an insurmountable issue with those old NOS valves for the most part.-Ed
