Paul,

"K" stands for thousand. In the case of caps., it's thousands of pF. 4,700 pF. = 4.7 nF. = 0.0047 muF.

A 4.7 muF. MPP cap. is physically large. For example, a SCR made 4.7 muF./250 WVDC MPP part is 0.75 inches in diameter and 1.1 inches long.

Please check a schematic to find the correct value.
