One of the helpful sites I've found for learners like me has a five-part series of articles on Amplifier Design by Norman Crowhurst, and a three-part series on Power Supply Design by Joseph Marshall, which can be downloaded free of charge. I hope this may be helpful.Although this material was written over 50 years ago, tubes haven't changed much since then. I think these articles are as true now as when they were originally written, EXCEPT that today we have available to us versatile and reliable SS devices and bigger and better capacitors that just weren't around then, so our choices for rectification, filtering and regulation are now much freer.
