Hi all,
I'm a beginner in the whole diy kits etc. world, although have some experience with building electronics from scratch due to some like 10 years of passionate practicing while I was a kid.I'm trying to work on modifying the output stage of my 5900, its weakest link according to most sources. I also happen to try to match the sound of my Thorens turntable at digital level (asymptotically, right?)
Because of limited space and cute factor I decided to explore using subminiature tubes like 6112. I found a balanced line stage on tubecad.com (http://www.tubecad.com/june99/page7.html), trying at the same to use the advantage of having differential output at DAC (DSD1790).
The difficulty here, as I discovered doing frustrating research online and elsewhere, is I/V conversion.
Could you guys and gals please help?
I am aware of the two types of I/V conversion, resistive and through transformer, their overlap, and to some degree, of the difficulties entailed in implementing them. What I am looking for is practical advice, to the extent of a full schematic, or best case scenario, kit available for purchase for a price that would not throw off my next mortgage payment.
Thank you much for all input,
Radu.
