Hi Jeff,Sorry, I currently can't think of the Forum that AW posted on ... when/if I do, I'll let you know.
Mmmm "rotate a record in 90 degree quadrants and LISTEN to the spectral balance change". Jeff, can you tell me the theory behind WHY the "direction" the LP affects the spectral balance?
I'm afraid I'm having difficulty understanding this, since if the "direction" IS changing the sound then I would think that there's much more selectivity involved than just 90 degrees - each degree of rotation should be different to every other position. So how on earth do you select the optimum? - it's impossible to listen to the same track 360 times, remember each sound and select the best "degree position"!!
In a similar vein, I have heard that there is an optimum "degree position" for the outer ring of an LP12 platter, relative to the central piece.
Regards,
Andy
