I think those pre-recorded mass produced tapes using BASF CrO2 stock and using 70uS ( this u means micro ) recording equalization would generate very nice playback sound quality. Incidentally the shells of those cassettes also use screws to mate the two parts of the shell together as well. This is very good in case the tape pad behind the tape came off after this many years and needed to be replaced.
