You can temporarily ground one side of the iso transformer AC output or the other, and look for either nearly 0 volts with respect to the unisolated Hot, or 240VAC. Near zero volts is the same plarity as the wall outlet, 240 V is reversed, and a dangerous situation that should be fixed.Be sure that one side is not grounded already (shouldn't be if it is really an iso trans).
Make sure your voltmeter is ona rnge tht can handle 240VAC, and use all necessary safety precuations, remember, one hand in the pocket!
