Resistors are resistor and capacitors are capacitors. There is no way you can replace a cap/res circuit with any cap alone. If you had a schematic we could look at it and tell you what the cap and resistor are for.On another note, why does someone who admittedly knows nothing about electronics want to modify his phono preamp? Is it broken? If not and your mod needs debugging (even experts put stuff together wrong) how the heck are you going to troubleshoot it?
