Anybody know how to fix an intermittent display on the SCD1?

I took the top off and noticed that the display pc traces are very narrow with many if not most of the inputs (from the power supply) on the hidden (inside) side of the display pc board. What I need is a service manual that instructs how to get at the inside of the pc board or someone local who can fix this.
Richard Kern performed mods for me and I certainly would trust him to do it but I don't relish sending it all the way to the Northwest coast again.
Can anybody suggest something on this?
