That type of "advertise" is way down at the last definition (2c) in my dictionary. At the top at number 1 is "to make known to."

Point being that in all other forums, trade members are prohibited from making any mention of products that they sell unless it's in response to a question about a specific product.

A member of the trade may not volunteer any information about a specific product that he is selling or making, in response to a general request for information about a type of product or in any other discussion.

I was just wondering if those rules applied here or not as it was never said specifically when the rules were set forth for this forum that all other rules apply.

Personally, manufacturers making mention of their products doesn't bother me as long as they are at least germane to the subject being discussed. But I've had some problems in the past with the trade memember rules being applied to some while others were allowed to routinely direct people to their company websides in response to general questions.

Anyway, just wondering if the trade member rules apply here so I'll know whether or not I can make mention of my products should an opportunity present itself.
