I had some time and had been wanting to test this utility code. It worked great, so I decided to cut it in. Is it what you had in mind?
Main forum post dialogues will also show your name if logged in. If I got the right spot, Previewing should keep the right Submit text depending on whether it's a new topic or follwoup.
As the forums get new posts, the new dialogue will proliferate.
