Asylum now offers a great service. Free classified.
I have conducted a good deal of business on Audiogon and was very excited to find the new service being offered hear. My Audiogon transactions have all went very well and I have made several friends as a result of these contacts.
I listed a set of speakers here on the new classified site about a week ago and much to my delight I had a full price offer the first night the listing appeared. Mr John Graham, the buyer, was to send a check to cover the sale and shipping to London England. I have had a few dealings with Audiophiles from England all of which were very positive.
Mr. Graham did send a money order drawn on Harris Bank, a US Bank.
The only problem was that the check was as phony as a three dollar bill.
The best part was that if I had follower all Mr Grahams instructions I would have used Western Union to send the "change" from the money order to his import agent. This of course would have resulted in a loss to me of about $5,000.
Amazing that this idiot must have actually thought that I would not check all aspects of this unusual transaction.
This post is to advise all inmates to beware of the Mr. Grahams out there!!!!
