It seems that don't handle the data properly all the time. That's a major problem as that feature does a few things and is implemented. One function which isn't turned on is rating posts. However, it also supports the Last Visit feature in the thread view and logs view totals on each post. I use a similar image viewer script for the Gallery and a bunch of other stuff, so it's no simple fix.
First, can you report it to them as a bug?Second, if you remove everything after the .pl from the ? on, so that after the img src you have just http://db.AudioAsylum.com/cgi/log.mpl, does it still crash?
Basically, the script just does a simple redirect to a one pixel white gif and logs that page view. I can parse the page from the referrer if it does like the parameters. Otherwise, I can look into the server output and see if there is a graphic header that might solve the problem.
