Hi Paul and JenyaCan I suggest the "Coil Design and Construction Manual" by B.B.Babani (Babani Electronics Books). This was first published in 1960 and is now in its 16th printing, so someone must be buying it!
I am on the verge of winding my own trannies (using an old AVO automatic coil winder that I nearly have working properly) and this book has given me the all the basics. It doesn't go into the same depth as the RDH4, but just about anyone can understand it, and it does cover all types of tranny we are likely to be interested in - RF coils, power trannies, DC and plate chokes, intervalve, OPTs (SETs and PP), input trannies, parafeed trannies.
I got mine from Amazon.com for about $8.
BTW Paul, what sort of winder do you use?
All the best
Doug
