listening volume and acoustics

Is there a corelation between listening volume and room acoustics?
i noticed that in my new listening room which has much better acoustics i like to listen music significantly louder than before.
after i treated the new room and tamed the bass - it seems that i like it even a bit louder...........
what do you think about this issue?
