I'm in the process of deciding on the exact dimensions of the basement room I'm going to build. I'd like to get as close as possible to one of the commonly suggested "ideal" ratios for listening rooms, so I want to start with an accurate height measurement.Right now, the basement ceiling is unfinished, so I have exposed joists at the moment. I am planning to finish the ceiling with fiberglass between the joists and then ceiling tiles (not a dropped ceiling), so my question is this: Do I want to start with a height measurement that takes into account what the height will be after I install the ceiling tiles, or do I want to measure to the bottom of the floor above, to the bottom of the joists, or ... something else? Thanks again for the help.
