That wasn't even on my mind. All I was considering is the overall flatness of the low end response. But I have to think that a good subwoofer should be able to fill a room that large.
I'll admit my inexperience with subwoofers as I've had only a few in my ~4200 cubic foot living room. The first I tried was $90 at Costco, and it went back the same day. Then I bought a "real" sub for $550 (sorry, forget the brand) but it wasn't any better than the $90 one from Costco. Really! So that too went back. Then I bought a Carver Sunfire and it has truly rocked my world. I got the medium sized one (11 inches cubed), and it fills the entire room with an astonishing amount of real bass. A friend of mine has the larger 14 inch Carver Sunfire in a room even bigger than Cobra's, and it too puts out more bass than anyone could ever want.
Sorry for the long-windedness, but it seems to me the subwoofer itself is ÛÜ7east as big a factor, no?
