Yes, that reverb from the stem end, the unbalanced space, can be an issue.Bass traps in there will reduce the reverberation time but may make things a little too dead for some people. Some absorption would help or, as I found in my case, diffusion. One corner in there may well be more of a problem than the other because of the asymmetry so you may well find best results with a non-symmetrical approach. You could try identifying the problem corner and using absorption in that corner and diffusion in the other to get a better balance between liveness and deadness if absorption in both corners makes the room seem too dead to you.
In the end my feeling is that you can eliminate or go close to eliminating the nasties from the asymmetry but I find I'm still left with a residual feeling that the left side of my room is different, at least in volume, to the right. Not surprising since it really is. What is nice is that things are now at the point where that impression is there if I'm listening critically to the sound but it disappears as soon as I get involved and start listening to the music and that's the important thing.
