Those will help a little, but there are better bass traps available that will do a much better job. Understand that my company RealTraps sells bass traps and other treatment, so it's a fine line for me to walk when people ask for my advice on what traps to get.
As for your closet, it could help a little. But only if it's packed tightly with clothes, and only if you leave the doors open.
