Please excuse my ignorance, but what is Guilford fabric?I might add that any time you add (or remove) a material over an absorber/diffuser, you change the impedance at that boundary, thus changing its acoustical properties. However, if this product is a 'fabric', its effect would most likely be at frequencies above a few hundred Hertz. So, if your treatment is primarily intended to deal with low frequency issues, the difference is likely to be insignificant. On the other hand, you noted that you are using some RPG diffusers, and so there may be some change to the sound at mid to upper frequencies. FWIW.
