I had also considered walling off my windows, perhaps by constructing a frame around the window with a "door" built from 2x4's and sheetrock.In my Rives designed room, where a wall will be built in front of the window wall (to achieve the best combination of dimensions) with an opening to allow access to the window, they went with wood venitian blinds and plantation shutters. Since I've yet to do the construction, I can't comment further.
