All I know is my wife acts very different* when I play Barry White.
It is true, that learning a instrument or listening to the right kind of music can change social perception and reaction, increase or decrease concentration, just look at Chuck Berry, Elvis, or The Beattles. Rap and Country music on the other hand doesn't make people stupid. Some country music and rap is just a product of stupidity. For example the country song "Honky tonk badonk adonk" or whatever...incredibly stupid and tasteless. Birds of a feather flock together.
