Yes to both questions as long as theres not a lighting system tied in with it. If you can see if they can get what they call an entertainment generator, there voltage and frequency are more stable than some industrial generator which is the most common and used for construction. There voltage and frequency can vary widely depending on the load.

Make sure you get grounding rods with the generator also, and that they ground the generator who evers setting it up.

For the digital stuff put power conditioners on the equipment.

You might want to call the power company also to see if they'll run you a drop box from a power pole down if theres one around. We've done this in the past and the voltage was cleaner and the frequency was a lot more stable than from a generator.

Also before you plug anything in make sure the voltage and polarity of the AC is correct. Check it with a meter and one of those rat-shack polarity checkers first.
