i am looking for a recording software and a hardware interface as well for my ibm t41 thinkpad. i am considering ableton live 4.0 and the presonous firepod. ableton live really seems like a unique way of composing and recording. this software seems really object oriented as there are multiple instances of a tracks called 'clips'. i just have the demo version but its approach seems really neat.for home studio use who care about protools. most home studio owners cannot afford the high-end system and the lower-end le system only allows recording on 32 tracks. with pro tools you locked into their closed system needing their hardware to interface with the software.
why not get what you really want to record with as there seems to be alot of inovative recording software out there.
