I too made the transition with JBL ,from the broadcast production enviroment,to the music recording enviroment
I found their earlier 80's and 90's monitors very consistent from the smallest to the largest in the series,In fact the little 4301 in its various forms was a favorite in alot of production houses ive worked .
But something has happened to the sound in their most recent boxes
i find,.kind of a lack luster kind of sound,compared to the earlier
offerings,.which had much more body or so it seems.
Im keeping room for something big,..like a Tannoy system 15 as an example.
Man..makes me wish i had not sold my faithful 82 klipsch Cornwalls
now theres a speaker that makes a Stienway sound like a Stienway.
Anyways,.thanx for your input,.and more to come from people i hope.
Its interesing that Urei is one system i have never worked with.rob
