hilgen bass amp info

have any of you guys ever seen or used a hilgen bass amp ?
a pal of mine just bought one at a vintage guitar show. it's from
the mid 60's and it is a nice small tube amp .it is the
"basso profundo" model. it looks a little like a gretsch amp.
i read that they were univox spinoffs although they look to good
for that.someone also said they were ampeg spinoffs.(they were made in N.J.) i'm posting here because there isn't a forum here for vintage musical instrument amps. maybe one can be started.
