Behringer gear

Hey there.

I've been using the same Behringer B1800x subwoofers, in DJ-ing weddings and dances roughly every other weekend (some in pretty large venues, or outdoors) for 4 years now. And my band has been using a Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX board for a year in our smaller PA rack. And I have numerous pieces of Behringer gear in my recording rack in my studio.

I've nothing but good luck & good performance from Behringer gear. Our band's 2 year old Mackie 24 channel board has flaked out on us & needed repair. And I've had other "pro" equipment that has spent more time in the shop than in use. But so far, Behringer's been very good to me. And the construction quality seems to be equal to the big boys. Just because it's affordable and made in China doesn't automatically make it junk. A lot of the stuff coming from China these days is manufactured under strict ISO9000 quality control.

You also never mentioned what "crapped out". The board? Some other piece of gear? A cord? Lots of things in a sound system can go wrong. And the more gear in the rack the better your odds are of a "crap out". Also, did you mean "crap out" as a cataclysmic equipment failure, a lack of volume, lousy sound, noise, etc?

By the way, another killer product from China is the Phonic MAX2500 power amp. I've been driving these to extremely loud levels during gigs for about 4 years, and these are the best amps I've ever had. And I've had QSC, Crest, Peavey, and Crown amps. They sound great, are well designed with great build quality, and are rock-steady reliable. 750 wpc RMS into 4 ohms (500 wpc @ 8 ohms) and have a new selling price around 400 bucks.

Cheers,
Bobbo :-)
