What "crapped out"?Our Yamaha CP2000s "crapped " right out of the box. Unable to drive a Lab sub(which is 3 ohm min) and never met its advertized po. On the bench that is. They sound nice. Just not the power they claim and can't do 2ohms/chan.
I'm sure the higher priced Yamahas do better. I can only speak for what we have.I see nothing wrong with a China made pc that meets its spec and doesn't fall apart. Even if it doesn't meet specs but meets a $/performance ratio. The Behringer DCX2496s are a bargain for what it does. I have seen no problems after a yr now. Although, everything has its limits. Stay below them and it should never fail. Pro stuff should be in better hands, I would think, than a consumer piece. It seems we push those limits and then blame it on cheap stuff.
Out of all the amps we have, QSC, Yamaha, old Peavey and Crown, I have one dead one. The Crown. Who would have thought. Its like the on going fight with an associate of mine who drives a Ford.
I drive a Chevy.
