Thx very much for the replies guys! I hope you would be kind enough to answer a few more questions from me? I'm sort of new at this, so please bear with me.1) That eminence speaker looks great. How about a few more suggestions however? My power amp puts 400 watts at 8 ohms, and 600 watts at 4 ohms into this cab. I'm more concerned about quality than quantity, as I'm playing mostly smallish clubs. I'm VERY concerned about solid bass around 30Hz. My crossover sets the sub to handle everything from below 125Hz. If I have to build a new cab, I will.
2) A ported/vented cab was mentioned. If I want more bass around 30 Hz, don't I want a sealed cab?
3) As a cheap alternative in the meantime, could I get away using a bass guitar cabinet? What's going to be the general difference in sound between bass guitar gear, and PA gear?
4) Any trusted resources you have on how to properly build a subwoofer cabinet?
Thx again!
