Are you sure there isn't something wrong with the USB card? I installed a dedicated USB card in my win 7 desktop and windows 7 saw it and installed its own drivers perfectly. There is nothing you should have to do but put it in the slot and boot up.
If it's not working try a different slot or a different card.
