After owning Touch for a year, I can confidently say that, out of the box, Touch offers barely 10% of its full potential!
The first thing to do is feed the digital signal via spdif into an outboard DAC. That improves things to no end, however, it's only the beginning. The next thing to do on the Touch is kill all unnecessary processing. Get rid of wi fi, screen, analog and USB outs, everything except the digital out.
Get a good quality PSU (preferably linear). Make sure that all the heavy lifting (i.e. converting FLAC to PCM on the fly) is NOT performed by the Touch (better to do it on your PC).
Lastly, you need to play around with processes and threads interrupts and priorities. Touch is basically a Linux computer, so either learn Linux basics, or get a friend to help.
Once you hit the sweet spot with the interrupts/thread priorities, your Touch will suddenly start sounding like a multi thousand dollar player.
