Agree and disagree

First of all, I wholeheartedly agree that the Squeezebox Touch is one of the best buys I've ever made in audio. The ease of use has changed the way I listen to music, and most importantly given me the opportunity to listen a lot more often.

I disagree with you about the internal DAC though. It seems a bit over the top to say it "isn't for audiophiles" and that anyone that would disagree with that probably "listen[s] to compressed MP3."

From my own experience, I consider it roughly in the same leagues as my DLIII, with the DLIII having the slightest edge. Also of interest is the measured performance in the Stereophile review. The internal DAC measures surprisingly well. I bought the Touch when it was first released, and was suitably impressed with it before any reviews were out.

It is just my opinion, but I think it is pretty good. At the very least, I'd encourage someone to listen to it with an open mind before spending the extra cash on a DAC. It might save them some $$.
