RE: How to get the waveform...

Sure, however, as said, the picture was consistent and accurate.

I don't think the problem was Dell specific. Generally their PC's are engineered at least as well as all the others using the OEM Motherboards etc.

The noisy USB power was the Dell's problems, however it is not alone in having this problem. sing fairly primitive means it was possible to get major improvements. But a dedicated low noise supply is a better option, where possible.

No, it was the level. After the modification the lock problem disappeared.

I think it was compounded by the wrong impedance of the Musiland together with the wiring to the sockets (which is nothing remotely related to 75R) and the wrong impedance sockets (remember, I measured a unit that was completely stock, your measurements show a modified unit), together with other issues.

Good if you did not have lock issues. Then again, I did not know I had them until I had to debug why the software was constantly servicing the receiver interrupt at higher sample rates, so it could not do the other job's it was supposed to. Which is kind of annoying.

At 20 bits, you are on the verge of dynamic range covering fly-farts-at-20-feet to intolerable pain. Really, what more could we need?
