Here's another thing to try, an Anker phone charger battery. The Anker Powercore 13000 is what I've used. You would plug the official Pi 5v supply into the battery with a micro USB, and then plug the Pi into one of the USB-A ports. When you supply wall power to charge the battery the Pi will cut out. When you turn off the wall power, you then push the side button on the battery to supply power to the Pi. This in effect isolates the Pi from the wall supply.
