PI2AES - PRO AUDIO SHIELD is in the 'Casita'....

Running Volumio on the Pi4 as a DLNA renderer for Audirvana on the Mac Mini.

Currently using the BNC AES3 output directly to the DAC via a 75 Ohm BNC to BNC adapter as was used with the Pi3/DigiOne it replaced.

This would be the exact same setup as the DigiOne/Pi3 combo and maybe a bit cleaner sound. That said. this box uses a cheap 24V supply which may end up being replaced by a 'decent' linear (whatever that might be). The DigiOne/Pi3 was running the LPS-1 to power the Pi3/DigiOne.

Certainly sounds better, albeit just a bit, than the Pi4 by itself via it's USB output to the DAC even when using the IsoRegen between Pi and USB input to the DAC.

Huge differences? Nah. But we are not talking big bucks here.

Micro Rendu level good? Maybe VERY close.

Will do some A:B testing as soon as it 'breaks in'. :-)

First they came for the dumb-asses
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a dumb-ass
